Ivan Steele, B.A., M.A, J.D. (www.ivansteelelaw.com) is a Toronto family and immigration lawyer. Ivan is recognized as a Barrister-at-Law by the Province of Ontario, a Solicitor of Ontario Superior Court and Court of Appeal of Ontario, Commissioner for Taking Affidavits, and Notary Public with the Province of Ontario.
Ivan obtained Bachelor Degrees in English and Sociology and a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology summa cum laude from the University of San Francisco, and graduated with honors from the University of Ottawa law school. He received additional training in immigration and comparative refugee law at Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles.
Ivan worked for the Office of the Children’s Lawyer, articled at Davies Ward Phillips and Vineberg LLP, a premier corporate law firm, and worked for Jordan Battista LLP. In addition to his background in business and law, Ivan is a trained psychotherapist, and is conversant in theories and effective practices for working with children, adults and their families in a variety of mental health settings. He received extensive training in alternative dispute resolution strategies and collaborative family law.
